Osotspa Receives 2 Awards for Supporting the Disabled with Career Opportunities

Osotspa affirmed its commitment in supporting the disabled with two awards of pride. The first one is the Sustainability Model Organization in the Thai Capital Market Award for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities 2022" (Outstanding Level), which was held for the first time by the Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) together with the Ministry of Labor, Department of Skill Development, Department of Employment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Thai Listed Companies Association and Disabilities Thailand. Osotspa was also entitled with the "Outstanding Organization in Supporting the Disabled of the Year 2022," by the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, for the third consecutive year. These awards recognize Osotspa’s commitment to supporting people with disabilities under the concept of “teaching a man to fish to feed him for a lifetime" by providing career training to create a sustainable future for people with disabilities through the "Life must go on" project.

Osotspa initiated the "Life must go on" project, which aims to help people with disabilities, complying with the law on the promotion and development of people with disabilities (section 35). With the concept of “teaching a man to fish to feed him for a lifetime,” the project emphasizes on training to create a sustainable future for the disabled, especially those who used to be the breadwinners of their families before becoming disabled after serious accidents or illness. The project helps them move forward with their lives and enables them to work and support their family once again by focusing on rebuilding their physical strength, mental well-being and economic power. The project helps them regain their willpower through renovating their home to allow them to support and rely on themselves while fostering greater self-reliance as well as income opportunities through suitable occupation promotion, such as growing bean sprouts, growing mushrooms, weaving bags, selling food, cutting hair, repairing electrical appliances. For those who have skills with no capital, the Company provides them with occupational equipment.

Throughout the project, Osotspa has gained a lot of knowledge that leads to an establishment of a network of various organizations, both public and private sectors, such as the Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Department of Employment, local government agencies and the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department. Furthermore, Osotspa develops new models, including a community that allows the disabled to exchange knowledge and distribution channels. It also develops branding and marketing for their products. The products from the organic farms are sold under the Kin Dee brand, the baskets are sold under the Handy brand, while the furniture is sold under the Yoo Dee brand. Moreover, it has set up a Facebook page called “Kindee, Yoodee, Handy” to expand to online marketing channels. More importantly, it encourages the project’s members to develop from a recipient to a giver by sharing opportunities with others like what they had experienced before through the learning center by people with disabilities for people with disabilities where they can pass on their knowledge and skills to new members and those who are interested.

Receiving both awards is Osotspa’s pride and a proof of its commitment in conducting business along with social development to grow sustainably with Thai society.
