Osotspa Delivers Medical Equipment Made with Care by Thai Engineers to Support Fight against COVID-19

Osotspa together with the volunteers of the engineering team have applied their knowledge and mechanical expertise to invent medical equipment for COVID-19 patients with the care and skill of Thai inventors to join the battle of COVID-19 with an aim to empower, support and encourage medical personnel in front-line sacrifice in the fight against COVID-19.

Since the beginning of the outbreak in Thailand, Osotspa's volunteer team has joined the Big Cleaning and handed out beverage products to encourage staff from various sectors every day with the determination to join the fight to the best of their ability. Osotspa has put in our best effort to brainstorm for ideas to support all needs and help to control the outbreak in the right manner that can help a lot of infected people, as well as, help protect medical personnel who are dedicated to save the patients even in the midst of risk.

Osotspa has conducted thorough research for equipment in needs from various hospitals to provide direct support. Our special working group led by Mr. Nukit Chonlacoop, Chief Manufacturing Officer, and Osotspa's engineering team works closely with the hospitals under the guidance of Dr. Tossaporn Moungsouy, Director of Chaophya Hospital and the Engineering Institute of Thailand to design and build 3 types of the medical-grade equipment, including negative pressure cabinets, Covid-19 patient filters stations and negative pressure isolation capsules. This equipment is being used to treat patients with Covid-19 to limit the spread of the infection and reduce the chance of exposure. The equipment is used not only for treating patients but also for protecting medical personnel from infection. They also help reduce the spread of infection to other patients in the hospital, especially inconclusive diagnosis cases. Through close cooperation with the hospital, we have successfully developed equipment that best suits the needs in terms of usage and appropriate size for each hospital.

Mr. Weerayut Warnitkomonnan, a member of the special working group, mentioned the design and production supervision "Although we do not have knowledge of medical equipment, we all determine to do our best. We have visited each hospital by ourselves, even when the number of infected people was at its peak and it was certain about the risks. We want to do our best for the hospitals to have the necessary equipment that can support their needs. And we could be happier once we saw that our work has saved a lot of people. These hospitals have been longing for this medical equipment for a long time. Some hospitals do have budgets to build this equipment, but lack people to help design and build the qualifying equipment. This makes us even happier to be able to help. "

Osotspa has delivered 14 negative pressure cabinets, 9 Covid-19 patient filters stations and 23 negative pressure isolation capsules, worth totaling over 10 million baht to 28 hospitals located in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Phuket, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat, namely Somdejprapinklao Hospital, Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital, Phra Mongkutklao Hospital, Sirinthorn Hospital, Taksin Hospital, Lat Krabang Hospital, Rajavithi Hospital, Chaophaya Hospital, Saraburi Hospital, Phra Phutthabat Hospital, Kaeng Khoi Hospital, Nong Khae Hospital, Sao Hai Hospital, Samut Prakan Hospital, Bang Phli Hospital, Bang Chak Hospital, Phra Samut Chedi Hospital, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital, Sena Hospital, Somdet Phra Sangkharaj Hospital, Tha Ruea Hospital, Phachi Hospital, Bang Sai Hospital, Somdej Phrayupharaj Hospital, Yaring Hospital, Tak Bai Hospital and Phuket Provincial Hospital.

Mrs. Wannipa Bhakdibutr, President of Osotspa Public Company Limited, said "Though our vision 'Power to Enhance Life', Osotspa is ready to fight and overcome this crisis together with all Thai people. We will not let medical personnel fight alone. We are proud to use our knowledge and expertise to support hospitals. We have also seen the power of fellow employees who volunteered with physical and mental strength to fight with COVID-19 in various missions with the utmost strength "

Strong determination and dedication to help the society allow the engineering team of Osotspa to successfully accomplish things that had never been done in a limited time. This innovation not only helped and protected a lot of people during the COVID-19 outbreak crisis, but it also provides knowledge that can be further extended to help the medical community and to cope with many serious communicable diseases in the future. Osotspa stands beside the Thai people through the crisis. We believe that with the cooperation of all Thai people, we will overcome this situation together in the near future.
