Osotspa Thrives to Empower Lives of the Disabled, Hosting Seminar and Workshop for Career Development for Persons with Disability in Khon Kaen

Osotspa Public Company Limited hosted a seminar and workshop to empower career development for persons with disabilities under the topic “Create Opportunities, Happiness, and Sustainable Life with Osotspa.” The company organized this activity for disabled people, representatives from the local private and public sectors, and the network of local physiotherapists in Khon Kaen Province. The main goal of this event is to inspire and create sustainable career opportunities for the disabled by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge, listening to their challenges to help provide possible solutions, and building a strong cooperation network among local private and public sectors in order to support the disability community in every angle.
The essence of this seminar is to propose the “OSP Khon Kaen Model” or the cooperative model to unite private and public sectors in Khon Kaen Province to support the disabled in securing a job and generating incomes in a sustainable way by establishing an integrated network. The model consists of building a team of physiotherapists to evaluate and improve both the mental and physical health of people with disabilities to prepare them for employment, providing job training and career opportunities through OSP’s disability career development program, up to establishing a shared mission between the private and public sectors to support disabled people in the area and set a good example for taking care of the society.
Furthermore, Osotspa invited the public sector network which has a good potential to support people with disabilities in Khon Kaen Province. The participants include the Federation of Thai Industries, the Center of Empowerment and Vocational Development for Persons with Disabilities, a physiotherapist team, and representatives from the disability community in Khon Kaen Province. In addition, Osotspa also invited Dr. Komatra Chuengsatiansup, M.D., Director of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (SAC), to provide guidance on the way of work and give encouragement to the local staff.
On top of the seminar, Osotspa also organized a workshop under the topic “Develop the Right Product for Your Market” by inviting specialists from different job fields to share knowledge about sales and marketing as well as to inspire the participants, in order for the disabled people to develop quality products to serve the market and generate sustainable incomes. The workshop allowed disabled persons to have hands-on experience in various areas such as food processing, carpentry, and handicraft by learning from the brand “Kindee Yoodee Handy,” a handmade product brand by disabled artisans under the OSP vocational training program for people with disabilities.
Mrs. Wanthong Sangkate, one of the workshop participants, said “It was delightful to be part of this workshop since I got to meet my friends and share ideas among all participants. I got to learn new techniques from the guest speakers which are very simple and practical. Big thanks to Osotspa for your kind support and encouragement and most importantly for the opportunity given to us to land a job, earn income, and have a better quality of life. I will keep learning and improving my crafts.” Mr. Wattanakool Khunpoh, another participant, added “I’m very grateful for having a chance to join this activity with Osotspa along with my fellow disabled people. I certainly got some good advice from Osotspa’s former program participants. Being part of this workshop gave me such great insights and ideas that inspire me to keep up my woodwork.”
